The Start of Our European Adventure
Last September, my husband and I embarked on a month-long journey through Europe, and our adventure began in the vibrant city of Istanbul. This was my first visit to this historic city, and needless to say, I was brimming with excitement.
A Perfect Choice – The Orientbank Hotel
Our choice for accommodation in Istanbul was the Orientbank Hotel, and it turned out to be an exceptional decision. Let me share with you why we were so pleased with our stay.
Unbeatable Location
One of the standout features of the Orientbank Hotel is its unbeatable location. It is situated in the heart of Istanbul, just a stone’s throw away from attractions like Topkapi Palace, the Spice Bazaar, and the Grand Bazaar. It was nice to be able to step out of the hotel and be in the heart of the city.
Breakfast Bliss
The Hotel offers a generous spread that’s included with your stay. The variety and abundance of freshly baked pastries, Turkish coffee, and local delicacies was off the charts. We had to be careful not to over do it so that we wouldn’t be too full to walk and explore. 😊 We also tried the room service, and it was both timely and delicious.
A View from the Top
Don’t miss the opportunity to visit the hotel’s rooftop terrace, where you can see breathtaking views of Istanbul. The sunset from this vantage point is a must-see and it’s an opportunity to get some great photos of the city.
Cozy and Stylish Rooms
We stayed in a Deluxe King room, and it was just lovely. It was tastefully decorated with Turkish-inspired decor, spacious yet cozy, and most importantly, the linens were soft and the bed was comfy.
Exceptional Staff
Now, let’s talk about the real highlight of our stay—the incredible staff at the Orientbank Hotel. Their exceptional service went above and beyond our expectations. When our airline lost our luggage, leaving us with only our carry-on bags, the hotel staff provided us with toothpaste and toothbrushes and pointed us to several nearby stores for essentials. They were proactive in helping us track down our missing bags, making at least five calls to the airline and attempting to arrange for delivery. Their unwavering dedication and assistance significantly alleviated a highly frustrating situation for us. This entire team, without exception, displayed exceptional commitment to providing top-notch service that was tremendously appreciated. They are absolute stars in their field.
A Truly Fantastic Stay
Our experience at the Orientbank Hotel in Istanbul was excellent. If you find yourself in Istanbul and are seeking the perfect combination of an unbeatable location and exceptional staff, the Orientbank Hotel is a wonderful choice in every way.
A Couple of Tips
Here are a few more things you may find helpful. Traffic in Istanbul can be quite chaotic. We planned for a 45-minute commute to the hotel, yet it took 95 minutes, so make plans accordingly.
Also, for those Marriott Bonvoy members, you’ll be happy to know that the Orientbank Hotel is part of the Marriott brand. You can book your stay using Marriott points, which is a fantastic perk.
