Dining at Dubravka 1836 in Dubrovnik

Discovering Dubravka 1836

My husband and I stumbled upon Dubravka 1836 when dropped off near the Pile Gate by our Uber driver. We were looking for restaurants with a view in Dubrovnik. Despite no reservations, seating was quick. We sat at a cozy outdoor table with stunning views overlooking the Adriatic and the ancient city walls. It felt like the perfect spot to relax after a day of sightseeing.

Delicious Food and Atmosphere

Since Dubravka 1836 is right by the busy entrance to Dubrovnik’s Old Town, we were a little hesitant at first. Often, restaurants in high-traffic tourist areas are hit or miss. and we worried the food might be basic or overpriced. Our worries disappeared once we received our dishes. I ordered the octopus salad, which was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. Brian had a beautifully cooked steak that was tender and juicy. The setting is relaxed yet elegant, with a gentle breeze and the sound of the waves below. It really exceeded our expectations.

Exceptional Service

What truly made our evening unforgettable was the service. Our server was one of the nicest and most attentive we encountered during our entire three-week trip. He was friendly without being intrusive and offered great recommendations. To top it all off, it was a surprised with a complimentary dessert cocktail! A tasty mix of champagne, vodka, and lemon sorbet that was both refreshing and delicious. I’ve since tried making it at home, and it always brings back wonderful memories of that night in Dubrovnik.
