My husband and I stumbled upon Dubravka 1836 after being dropped off near the Pile Gate by our Uber driver. We did not have reservations, but we were able to get seated quickly at an outdoor table that provided amazing views. We weren’t sure what to expect since this restaurant is right by the gate entrance to the Old Town, so we were a little concerned they might have subpar food, as they cater to the busy tourist flow. Our concern was unnecessary, because it turned out that my octopus salad and my husband’s steak were both delicious, the atmosphere was lovely, and our server was beyond fabulous. In fact, the service at Dubravka was the best we had during our entire 3-week vacation. I’m just sorry I didn’t take note of our server’s name, because he was as nice as they come, and he made what was already an excellent dinner, absolutely wonderful. He even brought us a complimentary dessert cocktail, which I’ve now recreated a few times at home made with champagne, vodka and lemon sorbet…..yum!
