Try traditional dishes like fava and keftedes, as well as fresh seafood and local wines. Here are some great local restaurants:
- To Steki Tou Nikou in Imerovigli is a charming family-owned taverna that serves up authentic Greek dishes in a friendly atmosphere.
- Ambrosia Restaurant in Oia serves fabulous Mediterranean food and offers a romantic atmosphere with beautiful views of the Caldera.
Also, don’t miss out on Ammoudi Fish Tavern and Volcano Blue. You can read about them here.
Packing Essentials: Bring several pair of comfortable walking shoes, as the island has many steep paths and stairs. Don’t forget sunscreen and sunglasses, as the sun can be intense.
Best Time to Visit: The ideal times to visit Santorini are late April to early June and September to October. These months offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and lower prices compared to the peak summer season.
