The Sheraton Dubrovnik is a great mix of comfort, convenience, and value. It’s a fantastic spot whether you’re looking to unwind or dive into exploring the beautiful city of Dubrovnik.
Location
Getting to Dubrovnik’s Old Town from the Sheraton is about a 10-minute drive away, depending on traffic. If you don’t have a car, you can use local taxis or, like we did, you can use Uber, which are convenient and reasonably priced. Alternatively, there is a bus stop just near the hotel that regularly travels to Old Town.
Cavtat is a charming town about a 30-minute drive south of the hotel. It’s known for its picturesque waterfront and relaxed vibe. It is absolutely worth a visit if you have some extra time.
Montenegro is a bit further away. It’s roughly a 2 to 2.5-hour drive from Dubrovnik to the Montenegro border. If you’re up for a day trip, you can explore the towns of Kotor and Budva, which are beautiful and full of history.
Accommodations
The rooms at the Sheraton Dubrovnik are designed with a modern and comfortable feel. Many have large windows that let in plenty of natural light, offering beautiful views of either the sea or the surrounding area. You’ll find plush bedding, a desk, and a flat-screen TV. Many rooms come with a private balcony, which is perfect for enjoying your morning coffee or just taking in the view.
Pool and Waterfront Location
The outdoor pool area is one of the hotel’s standout features. It’s quite large, so there’s plenty of space to swim or lounge by the water. Surrounding the pool, there are plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas, making it a great place to relax. The pool area also has a bar where you can grab a drink or a snack.
The Sheraton’s location right on the waterfront is another big plus. There’s a lovely walking path that runs along the coast, perfect for a scenic stroll. If you prefer the beach, you’ll find a nice, small pebble beach nearby where you can swim or sunbathe. There are also several restaurants in the vicinity, so you can easily grab a bite to eat while enjoying the sea views.
Saving Money with Marriott Points
For those using Marriott points, the Sheraton Dubrovnik is a great option. Sheraton hotels generally offer good value for points, and Dubrovnik is a popular destination where points can go further. Compared to some high-end properties or peak season rates, redeeming points at the Sheraton can save you a significant amount of money. Plus, you’ll still enjoy many of the luxury amenities without spending too many of your points.
Brian and I used our Marriott points for our stay and snagged the 5th night free deal, which saved us a lot of cash! If we didn’t have points, we might choose a spot closer to Old Town for convenience since it’s just the two of us. But if you’re traveling with the family, especially with kids, this place would be ideal.
