Casa Vendaval: The Best Place to Stay in Tulum for Couples

Looking for the perfect romantic getaway? Casa Vendaval is calling your name. If you’re dreaming of a serene, luxurious retreat where you can truly unwind, this villa in Tulum is your answer.

Once you arrive at this stunning beachfront villa, the hardest part of your day will be deciding between lounging in a hammock or floating in the private pool. My husband and I were fortunate enough to spend two weeks here, and it was pure bliss.

The villa itself is a dream come true for couples. It’s impeccably clean, beautifully designed, and nestled on a quiet stretch of beach, ensuring total privacy. You’ll love the well-maintained pool that’s perfect for cooling off, and the air conditioning that keeps you comfy during warm days.

I can’t say enough about this amazing host.

Prior to our visit, Mac, the owner, sent directions, restaurant suggestions, car insurance recommendations, advice on where to pick up groceries, and recommended activities. He answered all of my many inquiries within minutes. He put us in touch via WhatsApp with caretakers, Maritza and Walter. We reached out to them to coordinate our arrival and request a menu of dining options. Walter is the resident chef.  During our stay, most of our meals were prepared by Walter. These incredible meals included lobster (which we had twice because it was so good), huevos rancheros, enchiladas, tacos, chorizo and eggs, fresh fish, chips & guacamole, and much more.  Reasonably priced and thoughtfully served, we were thoroughly impressed. Maritza kept the villa impeccably clean, adding to the overall comfort of our stay.

Mac also provided the contact information for a local masseuse. I was able to get two excellent massages (outdoors under the palapa) while we were there.

A couple of evenings, we curled up on the sofa and watched movies. Mostly we spent our time outside. Listening to the waves rolling in. Going for walks. Relaxing in the hammocks. Floating in the pool. Playing games at the outdoor dining table and listening to music.  We hunted for shells, built a sad-looking sandcastle, and watched the mating rituals of the resident iguanas.

We had quite a time making this vacation happen. The first time we had the house reserved, we had to cancel the reservation due to the pandemic.  The second time we had to cancel because our dog, Porkchop, had become very ill. There was no way we could leave her.  Mac empathized with our circumstances. He was incredibly understanding and helped us reschedule without any hassle, even though we were technically no longer within the cancellation window.

Beyond the villa, the location offers various attractions within reasonable driving distance. Playa del Carmen, Chichen Itza, Tulum ruins, Coba, and a famous cenote are all accessible.

Additionally, a few nearby resorts within walking distances provide options for cocktails and meals.

It’s clearly one of the best places to stay in Tulum for couples.

If you’re looking for a truly relaxing escape in Tulum, this villa is your ideal destination. Trust me, once you experience it, you’ll be counting the days until your next stay.
